Our privacy approach
Pettus Automotive uses the minimum information needed to operate this site, protect it from abuse, remember privacy choices, and—only with permission—understand aggregate site and inventory engagement. Optional analytics and advertising storage are denied until a visitor chooses otherwise.
Information we collect
Information collected automatically
- Internet or network activity, such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, requested URL, timestamps, and security events.
- A necessary privacy-choice record containing the selected cookie categories, whether Global Privacy Control was detected, and the time of the choice.
- If analytics is allowed, page views, broad traffic source, approximate geography, device information, inventory filters, vehicle interactions, and similar usage events. We do not place form values, names, emails, phone numbers, or free-form text in analytics events.
Administrator information
Authorized website administrators may provide account identity details through protected sign-in. Administrative changes, feed runs, inventory removal events, and route-test results are recorded for security and operational accountability.
Information we do not currently collect
This public testing build does not collect payment card data, Social Security numbers, driver’s-license data, precise geolocation, account passwords, credit applications, or other sensitive personal information.
How we use information
- Deliver requested pages, inventory data, and site features.
- Keep the site and protected administration area secure.
- Remember and enforce privacy choices, including GPC signals.
- With analytics permission, measure aggregate shopper journeys and diagnose website quality without treating a website event as a CRM lead.
- Comply with law, enforce our terms, and defend legal rights.
Disclosure, sale, and sharing
We may disclose limited information to service providers and contractors that operate this website, provide security, or perform analytics on our behalf. If connected, Google Analytics receives measurement information only after analytics permission. Google Tag Manager manages approved tags but does not itself set cookies.
Pettus Automotive does not sell personal information for money through this site. No advertising pixel is active in this release. Because some advertising or analytics disclosures can be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under California law, optional advertising is off by default, can be refused without reduced service, and is automatically disabled when a browser sends Global Privacy Control.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Retention
- Privacy choices: 180 days, unless replaced sooner.
- Planned GA4 event and user-level data: targeted for a 14-month retention period; aggregate reports may remain longer.
- Security, administrative, inventory, and privacy-request records: for the period reasonably necessary to protect the site, document changes, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
Retention is based on the purpose for collection, sensitivity, legal and contractual requirements, operational need, and whether the information can be aggregated or deidentified.
California privacy rights
Subject to applicable law and exceptions, California residents may ask to know, access, correct, or delete personal information; receive a copy; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service and pricing when exercising a privacy right.
A browser-based opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control is honored automatically. You do not need to create an account or provide additional information to use the cookie and sharing opt-out. You can also change a prior choice at any time through the privacy controls.
We may need to verify identity for access, correction, or deletion requests and will use information supplied for verification only for that purpose. An authorized agent may submit a request when permitted by law. We will not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.

Security, children, and changes
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure. This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
We may update this policy when site features, vendors, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when the policy changes materially.
